Let's start step by step with a clear and precise timeline. Grab your pen and start taking notes :)

The very first question each bride ask is:

When should I Start Planning my Wedding ?

Starting to plan your wedding is best done within 18 months for a simple reason that some venues and suppliers in France are booked two years in advance due to its popularity, yes 2 years in advance!

It's important to start planning 18 months ahead so you can have a variety of suppliers to choose from and find the one that best suits your price/quality and PERSONNALITY/ STYLE !.

Let's start the WORK!

18 months before; Set your budget and your spending limit AND Stick to IT !

When creating a wedding budget, it helps to first understand the total amount you and your fiancé want to spend or can afford to spend so that you avoid wasting money or starting married life in debt (set a spending limit). It’s also important to discuss who pays for what with your future spouse when working out your wedding budget and if any family members will be contributing, chat with them about what they’re comfortable spending. You understood, setting a budget is the KEY factor for many of your wedding-related decisions; set it and fix to it !

15 months before; Work on your guest list

You guest list will depend largely on the venue capacity and your budget. That's why i personally recommand first to set the number of invitees before searching the venue !. No secret, this is one of the most complex part and can lead to some problems in both families. Sit down with your partner and key family members to put together a wish list of wedding guests. You will also need to decide for both family whether you’re inviting children and who will be allotted a plus one.

13 months before; Wedding theme and style selection.

Before visiting venues and diving into complex details, please sit down with your future spouse and determine your wedding style. Before searching and finding inspirational resources such as Pinterest, Instagram etc... (trust me..this could be really overwhelming) instead, sit down with your partner and determine what the most important aspects of your wedding will be. Is it the venue or a specific wedding date? a dj or a band ? What colors you love? What flowers you like or dislike? will it be an experienced focused or an esthetic wedding focused? Whether it’s specific wedding seasonal or style, or an actual theme it's helpful to choose a concept to design your wedding around and definetely select a venue accordingly.. Once you have an aesthetic in mind, it'll be easier to make design decisions, and generally, will make everything look more cohesive.

Be sure to investigate prices, packages, and any restrictions (including minimum budget spend or guest count) , study well the hidden cost from several reception venues before you sign any contracts. The hidden costs can be the risk of damaged on rentals such as candelabras that can be really high (we are talking about thousands of euros).
